Today's Professional Tip: Lead with the Important Information

Today's Professional Tip: Lead with the Important Information

When you engage a colleague or superior, do not begin with random outliers and abstract plot detail; busy people do not have time for you to eventually work your way around to your point and they cannot read your mind to anticipate your destination. Additionally, a quick thinker will begin to formulate responses and decisions based on ...the initial information provided so definitely do not end your point with a "gamechanger," or an important piece of information that would have changed the outcome of the decision or response, had you lead with it. This can be extremely frustrating and depending on whom you're talking to, you may just find yourself out of time or out of luck.

Lead with the important information.
